Challenge #19 [Beginnings] Even More Inspiration!

Just popping in with some more inspiration from our design Team and if you are quick, you'll still have time to join in the fun. The Challenge ends on the 25th January, the theme is 'BEGINNINGS', the optional element is 'SEQUINS' and you can enter here.



Color Bursts, dry embossing, heat embossing, tulle, thread, die cuts, Glossy Accents.

 Homemade embossing paste, embossing powder, black pigment ink, acrylic paint.

Sponging with Distress Ink overlayed with a stencil and spritzed with water, colored flower stamped on watercolor paper with Distress Markers and used a water brush over the markers.  Added sparkle to the cone flower with Wink of Stella, sequins, layered sentiment panels.

 Watercolours painted over a masked stamped image. Background decorated with stencilled dots, using gel medium and glitter. Stamped glasses coloured with markers and covered with Glossy Accents to create a glassy finish. Flowers stamped on red cardstock, coloured with markers, fuzzy cut, and glued on the card.

Challenge #19 [More Inspiration]

The Mixed Media Card Challenge #19 {Beginnings}

Well hello, 2016! You guys ready for a brand new year that promises even more mixed media fun? For our first challenge of the year, our theme is wide open to interpretation: BEGINNINGS. What does theme mean to you? Your mixed media cards doesn't have to have the new year theme -- as you can see, some of the mixed media card girls went beyond "new year" in their cards. So have a go at it. We'd love to see your takes on this month's theme. 


HOW TO PLAY
1. Create a mixed media CARD based on the theme, with or without the optional element.
2. Display the challenge graphic on your blog post and link back to this challenge post.
3. You may enter as many times as you want, as long as each entry is different.
4. You may combine a maximum of 7 challenges (6 other challenges plus ours).
5. Submit your projects by January 25, 11:55 p.m. Pacific (GMT-8).
6. We'll announce the winner and highlights on January 31.

I used Flutterby stencil from STAMPlorations with Soft Gloss Gel (to have a resist effect) and i made the background with Glimmer Mist (Dragonfly) on watercolor paper. The sentiment "Happy new year" in french is from a french company Kesi Art

Gelli-plate panel using acrylic paints, glitter card frame, acetate, sequins, washi tape, Distress Ink watercolouring.

Marbled Stains Technique on blue panel using Distress Paint and Distress Stains, white embossing paste with star stencil, stamping, raised panel and deer, sequins, stitched edge circle die.

Resist canvas colored with Distress Paint, Color Bloom spray mist, Inka Gold, and gold watercolor paint. Die cut globe and "2016", stenciled "peace" with white PITT artist pen and clear sequins

LYSA
Background is made using stamped images, colored texture paste through stencil and distressed edges. Dressform chippie colored with shimmer spray. Dress is made from layered lace trim. Pearls and paper flower embellish dress.

Versamark with Perfect Pearls, heat embossing, die cuts.

I created this card using sequins, stencils, washi tape, Versamark Watermark Ink, Onyx Black Pigment Ink, stickers and I used the heat embossing technique

ELINA
On the background there are die-cut hears under a wrinkled sheet of tissue paper, glued down with gel medium and covered with gesso. Misted with red color, and decorated with stamping and sewing around the edges.Black images are heat embossed using black glitter embossing powder.

Stamped the background, partially die cut a snowflake and added a partially die cut heart window. Stenciled on some Gesso mixed with translucent metallic silver embossing paste. Added die cut paper and vellum flowers and sequins and a vellum shaker window with more sequins, a snowflake die cut and a heat embossed sentiment.

Background Distress Inks/Dylusions Sprays. Stamped using versamark and white heat embossed. Using a stencil and texture paste created the dots on the left and added clear sequins to those dots. Stamped New Year.
