Mixed Media Card Challenge No. 23 [Reminder Post]

Wishing all you gorgeous Mothers out there a very happy Mother's Day!

We have a few more cards from our design Team to inspire you for this months theme 'REFLECTION'. The optional element is WATER. There are many ways to interpret this theme ie the showing a reflection, a play on the meaning of 'reflection' or you could just included the word in your card.

The Mixed Media Card Challenge #23 {Reflections}

Welcome to a brand new challenge here at The Mixed Media Card Challenge! For our challenge this month, the theme is REFLECTIONS, and optional element: WATER. Lots of ways you can go with the theme -- you can create mirror images, incorporate images (mirror, camera, water), or even use the word itself. So have a go at creating a mixed media card that follows the theme with or without water. The team can't wait to see what beauties you'll be linking up!


HOW TO PLAY
1. Create a mixed media CARD based on the theme, with or without the optional element.
2. Display the challenge graphic on your blog post and link back to this challenge post.
3. You may enter as many times as you want, as long as each entry is different.
4. You may combine a maximum of 7 challenges (6 other challenges plus ours).
5. Submit your projects by May 25, 11:55 p.m. Pacific  time.

Brusho with watercolor paper, reflections created with yellow and white ink, Distress Ink toned sky with stenciling, sun inked and then stenciled with metallic paste, clouds created with water, birds hand drawn, fussy cut mountain landscape from patterned paper, sentiment rub-ons.

Sponging, stamping and stencilling with Distress Ink. Foil Sentiment and embellishments. Hero Arts Shadow Ink and Wink of Stellar for butterflies. Machine stitched border.

And now here are the highlights. The girls in the design team picked an entry to highlight. It's the entry that uniquely impacted us in some way -- a specific technique that was used, the colors, the creativity, or something in it that touched or impacted us.



Maria F. says, "Vicki's card just screams sunshine to me and I love the touch of the watercolored blue clouds as contrast."

Jenny says, "I can't stop looking at Dee's card - I love the sunshine contrasted against the amazing stormy background!"

Sanna says, "I really like the contrast of the white paper against the crackled sunray paper piece and the sweet flowers on top! Such a pretty card!"

Julia says, "What wonderful texture and design on Mac Mable's card - love the brick chimney rising into the clouds and beautiful cone flowers."
Lee-Anne says, "Love the textures and the flowers reaching up to the brilliant sun."
Shirley says, "A perfect example of using textures appropriate to the image: fluffy clouds, rough bricks, shiny sun - and I love those pretty flowers!"

Becca says, "Wowzas! I was so impressed with the juxtaposition of dark and light. And the way she got those lines to match up in the foreground and the background? Color me impressed!"
Yasmina says, "I love love Pooja's card. I love how she combine the bright and the dark colors. The yellow really pop up  her card!"
